Generic Training Guide on HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming

This training guide is an introductory manual on HIV & AIDS mainstreaming. It provides a first step in helping organisations to put in place policies and strategies for internal and external HIV & AIDS mainstreaming. It is structured in 5 modules: 1) Setting the scene and reviewing HIV &AIDS; 2) HIV & AIDS as a development issue; 3) internal mainstreaming; 4) external mainstreaming and 5) participation and networking. The training guide is developed taking into account various experiences, contexts and even approaches, and can be adjusted to meet varying needs in different situation, with the application being flexible to accommodate unique situations. The generic guide is accompanied by a trainers’ handbook.
