Condom Commandos

Dr. Chamuco With Bananas ACORD launched a new documentary film about HIV/AIDS prevention in the Angolan Army called "Condom Commandos" on the 26th September at an event hosted by Christian Aid in London, UK and introduced by Dennis Nduhura, ACORD's Thematic Manager for HIV and AIDS. A range of other UK based NGOs with experience of the Stepping Stones methodology, as well as donor representatives such as the Department for International Development attended the screening. The film was warmly praised.

Twelve African countries held various actions and concurrent press conferences, a day before International Women's Day (IWD), to call attention to the negative consequences that Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) shall undoubtedly have on all women. African women from various walks of life, farmers, market vendors, gender activists, women MPs, intellectuals came together, as African women to take a stand against the plan to sign Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries (ACP) and the European Union (EU).
