South Sudan Area Programme Manager

Summary:

The Area Program Manager is responsible for all areas of the strategic leadership and operational management of ACORD's programmes and represent ACORD with Government, Local and international Organisations in South Sudan. S/he will take a leading role in Developing, overseeing, review and monitoring of Country strategy and ensuring the same in line with global ACORD strategic directions. The APM is responsible for developing new programming initiatives and will actively lead the key phases of ongoing programmes, especially around phase out. The APM will be responsible to ensure cross learning and fertilization of knowledge across the program in all areas of programming, national, regional and international policies and development issues.

Intern - Communications & External Relations

Summary:

The communications and external relations intern will be a member of the Partnership Development and Communications Team, which currently consists of one partnership and external relations advisor based in London and two partnership development officers based in Nairobi. There will also be close interaction with ACORD's programming directorate in Nairobi and the 18 country offices across Africa. The intern will report directly to the Partnership and External Relations Manager.

Conflict & Gender Themes Manager

Summary:

Job Summary
The Conflict & Gender Themes manager is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the conflict and gender thematic programs in line with the overall ACORD Strategic Plan, the Pan-Africa programme, Conflict and Gender thematic strategies and Programming guidelines.

  • S/he will provide technical and methodological support to ACORD's country and area programs across Africa in relation to conflict and gender work.
  • S/he shall actively contribute to define strategies advancing conflict and gender work at Pan-African level through research, partnership and alliance building and advocacy initiatives.
  • S/he shall provide leadership in cross-learning and knowledge generation for thematic alignment in relation to ACORD's conflict and gender strategic priorities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, Conflict, Gender or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Bilingual English and French

Pan-Africa Programme Manager

Summary:

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Programming Director, the Pan-Africa Programme Manager will play a role of leadership in development and management of the research and advocacy program on food sovereignty at pan Africa and global levels. This includes research, media, partnership and alliance building, popular mass mobilisation and lobby work on food sovereignty as well as capacity building, learning and knowledge management. The Pan-Africa Programme Manager shall lead the implementation of the Pan-Africa Programme in close collaboration with area program and thematic managers through the PAP working group1.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences, International Relation or related field

Conflict Officer - Job Description

Summary:

The conflict officer will be in charge of implementing the conflict strategy in line with ACORD programming framework.

She/he is responsible for promoting exchange and learning opportunities around programming initiatives addressing conflict issues between various Area Programs in Africa.

She/he is also responsible for contributing to conflict related research and advocacy initiatives within the Pan-African program and for exploring partnership and alliance perspectives in relation with the conflict theme.

Financial Analyst - Job Description

Summary:

He/She will coordinate internal and external audit processes across ACORD Programs and monitor timely and sustainable implementation of post-audit plans.
