CONSULTANT - MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION TOOL
ACORD seeks to develop a combined media and communications tool that will be used in the 5 countries to break the silence around GBV to influence change in negative behavior and attitudes related to GBV. This will also be used to create the required attention and influence policy changes with regard to GBV issues. We are therefore looking for an agency that will provide expertise in development of a media campaign toolkit as well as creative content/materials to enhance our GBV “My Body My Rights!”campaign.
Coordination:
The consultant agency will be guided by ACORD Gender Thematic Manager alongside the communications team at ACORD.
Skills required:
- Knowledge and experience of working on women’s rights issues in Africa and gender-related campaigns.
- Proven experience in working on regional and/or Pan-African campaigns with international organizations
- Demonstrated versatility in communicating across multiple channels
- Demonstrated experience in branding of development campaigns as well as creativity in developing campaign ideas, messages, events and activities
- Training skills
- Working knowledge of French and/or French speaking contexts is desired;
- The agency should be based in Kenya as the work will involve frequent interaction with ACORD staff based at the Headquarters office in Nairobi.
Timeframe:
The deliverables should be completed by 31st May 2010 for the implementation phase to start in June 2010 with a view to launch a regional campaign that will run all the way up to the 16 days of activism in December 2010.
Agencies will be expected to make a face to face presentation detailing how they propose to conduct the work.
